Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 93sv Review: A Salty Sailor's Take
I've been a dockmaster for nigh on 20 years, and in that time, I've seen it all. From the latest and greatest in marine electronics to the most harebrained attempts at DIY fixes, I've got an opinion on everything. So when Garmin sent over their new ECHOMAP UHD 93sv for review, I was more than happy to put its mettle to the test.
The Good Stuff
- Image Quality: This thing's got some serious chops in the image quality department. The 13-inch display is a real treat, with crisp, clear images that'll make you feel like you're right there on the water. - Multiplexed Sonar: Garmin's got this fancy-schmancy multiplexed sonar tech that lets you see up to 5 different sonar channels on the same screen. It's like having your own personal depth finder, without all the clutter. And trust me, it comes in handy when you're trying to navigate those tricky underwater ledges.
- Waypoints and Routes: Navigation's a breeze with this thing. You can store up to 100 routes and 2,000 waypoints, which is more than enough for even the most seasoned sailor. And let me tell you, after years of getting lost in the marshes, it's a real godsend.
