2003 Magna Marine Nova Scotia 47 Pilot House

If you’re looking for a 3 MPG meticulously cared for trawler with a hyper-detailed mechanical and service history that will impress the most persnickety mechanic, look no further. Words don’t adequately describe the attention to detail and forethought put into this boat. There is a spare part for nearly every single moving part! Impressed is an understatement. In the 20 years I’ve been a yacht broker, I’ve never listed a more technically and mechanically perfect boat.

Highlights of Two By Two:

  • Great Circle Loop and Long Range Cruising Capable
  • 6′ 7″ head room throughout
  • Wesmar Stabilizers
  • Bow AND Stern thruster
  • Watermaker
  • Portuguese bridge
  • AB Dinghy w/9.8hp (10 hours)
  • Electric Davit on stern offers quick and easy launching.

Upgrades and improvements include fresh bottom paint (12/17), recently serviced stabilizers, upgraded and replaced gear cooler, regularly serviced after cooler, upgraded 12v and 24v alternators, massive house battery and inverter system that can power the pilothouse AC and many other ships systems.

Cruise in comfort and style onboard this clean and exceptionally equipped pilot house and flybridge Trawler. Well built and proven perfect for long range voyages through ‘Americas Great Loop’ (completed 2009-2011) Bahamas to BVI’s (2012) and Down East Loop (2014).

Additional Information

Headroom throughout boat is 6’7″. The spacious open interior layout features an aft salon w/ midship galley. The wrap around sofa (converts to Full bed) is open to galley and provides a perfect entertaining space. The galley is equipped with a 3 element electric stove, convection/microwave oven, full size refrigerator, double sink and trash compactor. It also has tons of cabinet storage and countertop space. Other notable features are the detachable dining table that seats 6-8 and ample built in shelves.

The Midship pilot house is designed for function and comfort. Featuring a Centerline helm station that’s fully equipped with modern electronics and visibility is superb. The helm area also boasts superb features such as a Captain’s chair and huge night watch bench w/ dining table, map station, and a comfortable steps to fly bridge.

Huge midship master stateroom on lower level has a FULL WALK-IN in closet. Complete walk around queen bed w/ night stands, ensuite master head, separate full walk in spa shower with two shower heads and body sprayers. Access to engine room thru a sound insulated door aft of master stateroom. Forward study room which also has ensuite guest head and big closet and storage cabinets.

A surprising feature on this vessel is the walk in engine room with 6.8 headroom at the highest point. Built in work bench with tool boxes which simplify onboard maintenance. There are also huge below deck storage compartments throughout.

Fly bridge helm has deluxe seatingAft fly bridge deck/patio and extra large storage compartments. Wide walk around exterior for exceptional docking/locking/safety. Front Portuguese bridge with a windlass, double anchors and sun deck. Aft cockpit is great for relaxing. Two side doors plus a transom door allows easy all around access and makes docking a breeze. Step right onto floating dock w/ no steps or ladders. 50 amp power from bow or stern. Meticulously maintained inside and out. This yacht will be a wonderful new home or vessel for traveling with no compromise in comfort or space.

The upgrades, maintenence and detail that have been completed on this engine is absolutely the best I’ve ever seen. Details such as whenever the boat sits for any period of time the owner flushes the engine with fresh water, then removes the pencil zinc on the after cooler and completely drains the cooler. He also removes the water pump impeller inside the upgraded water pump so that it doesn’t sit inside the housing allowing the bent rubber fingers to develop a “memory” and/or stick to the pump casing. The gear cooler was replaced with an upgraded copper/nickel version. The alternator was upgraded to a Delco-Remy 28si which has two fans and known to be able to run hotter, provide 100 amps at high idle and offer longer service. The flywheel/transmission coupler was replaced with an upgraded version. You can happily eat a meal in the engine room where you won’t find a drop of oil, fuel or a fleck of rubber belt dust. All important equipment items are labeled with a “normal operating temperature” sticker. This makes engine room checks easy during operation, and using a laser temperature gun, can give confidence that everything is running correctly. The list of this kind of attention to detail can go on and on.
