This was one of the last Irwin 38 center Cockpit yachts manufactured, and as such, she has benefited from the many refinements Ted Irwin made to his original design over its 20 year production run. She has a shoal draft winged keel for easy ICW cruising and carefree gunkholing. Her roller furling genoa, self-tacking working jib,  and lazy jacks make single or short handed sailing a breeze! Two separate staterooms with ensuite heads provide privacy for guests forward, as well as luxurious accommodations in the owners stateroom aft.

She has been meticulously maintained and lovingly cared for by her knowledgeable owners, and was just hauled and painted in August. She is in the water and ready to take you anywhere both comfortably and safely Just bring your provisions and cast off…. if she were any more “Sail-away” she’d

SEE INTERIOR LAYOUT DRAWING This is a very roomy two stateroom, two-head yacht. Starting forward is a V-berth with filler and an overhead opening hatch with screen and privacy shade. There is a hanging locker and drawer storage area with the forward head to starboard. The fwd guest head has minimal wood to make it easy to clean, and contains a vanity, sink, shower and marine toilet with Y valve and holding tank.

Next aft is the main salon with six (6) tinted glass fixed ports and four (4) opening hatches with screens and privacy shades. There are seven (7) opening hatches and thirteen (13) opening ports, so ventilation is never a problem. For those sweltering still days, however,  there is a 16,000 BTU heating and cooling system by Dometic Air. There are large settees to port and starboard and the galley area is to port. Starboard is the navigation station with swing out seat.

Past the nav station is the passage to the aft stateroom. Convenient 360 degree engine access is via two doors in the passage as well as one door behind the companionway stairs and another door in the galley. The aft stateroom has a queen sized, walk around centerline bed. There is a dressing table with teak trimmed mirror and seat. The ensuite head is to port and has a S/S sink, shower, toilet and teak grate.

The rich interior finish and cleanliness must be seen to be appreciated,  and compares favorably with many newer yachts.

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Irwin 38 MK II is the ultimate blend of bluewater performance and spacious accommodations. Belowdecks, there are two comfortable staterooms with private heads, a sophisticated navigation station with an upholstered swing-out seat, and a well-appointed galley that would delight a gourmet chef.

The spacious main salon has a liquor locker, two large settees, a custom teak dining table, and more. The master stateroom features a queen-sized berth, a generous hanging locker, a vanity with mirror, reading lights, a storage bin, and an upholstered swing-out swivel stool. The tasteful use of richly varnished teak combined with coordinated mica colors provides a feeling of warmth and spaciousness.

Add the high-performance winged keel to a well-thought-out deck layout, and the result is a center cockpit sloop that is easily handled and sails like the race-bred winners from which she evolved.
