The layout is open and airy with 63 headroom in the salon. To starboard of the companionway is the galley and port is the nav station. Under the cockpit is an additional berth or storage area. The salon has a fold out dinette that serves both settees (standard on 1987 models).
The master cabin is in the vee and the head/shower is to starboard. There are cubbies, closets, and drawers throughout providing more storage than expected on a 31 footer.
The galley is next to the companionway for ease of preparation and serving. It features a 2 burner stove and icebox.
The little Yamnar 2 cylinder diesel puts out 18 hp to a fixed two blade prop. It is the original engine, doesn’t use any oil. Major service was preformed 500 hrs ago including replacing fuel injectors.
|Sails & Rigging|
The sails are a Quantum fully battened main with two reef points (2008) in a custom sailbag and lazyjacks and a Quantum 150 furling genoa with 2 foam reef points. A 100% working jib is also available. The rigging was replaced in 2007. All lines lead to the cockpit and are controlled by self tailing Lewmar winches. A new mainsheet traveler and boom vang were installed in 2005.
The cockpit is big with large lazerettes and storage areas. It is protected with an oversized bimini and custom dodger.
