Yankee Lady is a very well maintained example of this popular Arthur Edmonds design. On the hard at Mason’s Island Marina, Mystic  Connecticut she is in fine condition. Constructed with a solid hand laid fiberglass hull by Wright Yacht  Company Catskill, New York (hull #95). A robust yacht designed for able coastal cruising, with bluewater capabilities. Sail inventory includes Hood fully battened main, Hood mizzen, jib and 135% genoa. 37HP Westerbeke engine (rebuilt 1990). Electronics include:  Raytheon radar, Interphase sonar, and Benmar Autopilot. Can sleep up to 6 comfortably below; with forced hotair Espar heating for comfortable fall evenings. Offering the utility of a more expensive yacht Yankee Lady’s owner is motivated to sell this early summer season.

Construction and deck equipment

The hull is solid hand laid fiberglass, the house and deck are cored. White gelcoat in good condition. Encapsulated lead keel (full keel). Wide side decks.

Accommodation and layout

A traditional interior; V-berth forward with shelves outboard and four storage drawers beneath (anchor locker access forward). There is a hanging locker aft to starboard, and also a wet locker with drawers. Proximal and aft of the vanity and sink to port is the enclosed Jabsco head (new in 2011) and stall shower. The main saloon has a single settee to starboard with shelves outboard and storage beneath. To port is a dinette; featuring a bulkhead mounted table with settee that can be converted to a double berth. Yankee Lady has a U-shaped galley to starboard, with navigation station opposite to port, abaft of which is a large quarter berth. The bulkheads are teak, the cabin sole is teak and holly. Two overhead Bomar hatches for ambient ventilation, six opening ports. These were either rebedded or replaced in 2009/2010. There is a forced hotair Espar diesel heating system with thermostat at companionway. Interior cushions were new in 1994. Two Weems and Plath oil lamps. Cockpit table, with closed cell foam cockpit cushions and cockpit Sun Cover awning.


The spacious and functional U-shaped galley is equipped with a two burner propane stove with oven.  There is ample formica counter, cabinet and drawer space, a single stainless steel sink, hot and cold pressure water system (with a six gallon hot water heater), and a large insulated icebox (with engine driven Seafrost coldplate refrigeration system).

Ketch rig with aluminium extrusion main and mizzen masts and booms. Sails: Hood fully battened main with Dutchman reefing system (1992), Hood mizzen with Dutchman, Jib and 135% genoa (1992), Hood MPS spinnaker (with sock arrangement for easy deployment). Harken roller furler. Running rigging in good condition. Sail covers (new in 1996).  Two cockpit Two Speed Lewmar #43 primary winches, two Lewmar #8 halyard winches on mast. Pacific blue canvas dodger (2010). Suncover awning. Stainless steel wire standing rigging.
