Akamai was substantially rebuilt from the keel to the waterline in 2009-2011 by Koehler Kraft: Below waterline, edge-set mahogany planking and re-built frame stations (Purple Heart) encapsulated in epoxy. Above the waterline, original hull planking was splined with fiberglass rope and encapsulated in epoxy. All electrical and plumbing systems installed new in 2010/2011.
